One Day Silent Retreat
A Deeply Nourishing Day of Rest and Relaxation in the Silence at Wychcroft Retreat House in the Surrey Hills
With Marion & Martin Young and Jan Collis
Wednesday 4th June 2025
- Do you sometimes feel as if you are running on empty with no time or space to reflect and recharge?
- What if you can spend a day away from the busy-ness of life, with nothing to take care of, and be gently guided through a day of rest, relaxation and personal reflection time?
- And what if this was in an atmosphere of peaceful tranquillity, in companionable silence, in a retreat house with a deep and palpable presence of stillness?
- Slow down and recharge
With guided meditations, Conscious Resting and time for personal reflection. - Disconnect from technology
Our busy lives cause our minds and bodies to be on hyper-alert, which is stressful and tiring. Escape from your phone and sink into the stillness (there is an emergency number in case you need to be contacted). - Enter into the silence
Let your brainwaves slow down… let your mind and body unwind. Create space for your inner wisdom to shine through, and to reconnect with your true meaning and purpose. - Walk the labyrinth
An ancient symbol combining the imagery of the circle and the spiral to represent a journey to the centre and back out into the world. People walk labyrinths to help calm the mind, receive inspiration and let go of worries and concerns. - Connect directly
To the guidance of your Soul, a deeply comforting source of infinite wisdom and inspiration.

“I was expecting to find the Silent Day Retreat difficult. I am an incessant chatterbox and the only time I ever stop talking is when I am asleep. Plus, I am forever checking my mobile devices. How would I cope if I had to switch them off for almost an entire day?
Marion was incredibly reassuring and actually, slipping into the silence was effortless. After a couple of hours, my mind slowed right down and by lunchtime, I had discovered my inner Prozac. I touched a profound bliss within that I had never experienced before and it stayed with me long after the retreat was over. In essence, it was life-changing.”

“I loved last Saturday! I had never been on a silent retreat like that before and it surpassed any expectations I had. It helped me to truly experience the depth of this god-like energy within me. I felt connected to its gentle power, and how that power connects us all. The feeling has not left me.”

“I was totally shocked how powerful I found a single day spent in silence was. Your retreats should be on the NHS!”

“Thank you so much for a wonderful day – I loved all of it, I resonated with all that you offered and said. Indeed being part of a group was the key as I just don’t have the discipline to gift this to myself… even though I know how beneficial it is. I got all the learning (and rest) that I needed and am now completely sold on the intention to take regular conscious rests!”
o
“I loved the retreat. I wanted to stay at leaving time – so perhaps in the future an overnight retreat would be a real treat!”
o
“I did not realise how nourishing, refreshing and healing the power of silence is. I will definitely be back to savour more!”

“Such a beautiful, calm and nurturing day, I was able to drop deeply into the stillness and silence. The venue worked really well, beautiful scenery, very comfortable and warm and lots of space.”
o
“It was the first time I had experienced walking a labyrinth and what an extraordinary experience it was. It helped calm my mind and see things from a different perspective. I appreciated every little stone so carefully placed and the views from the centre.”
